Product Description

The Starrett Intenss Pro-Die bimetal band saw blade has an Intenss tooth design, a positive rake angle, a choice of variable or constant pitch, and a raker tooth set to resist heat, abrasion, and shock for high-production curved and straight cuts on tool, die, and mold steel, stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, and other nonferrous alloys. The teeth are made of triple-tempered M-42 high-speed cobalt steel with an alloy steel backing strip that resists fatigue. The blade can make cuts in solid shapes, cylindrical tubes, and structural shapes. The Intenss tooth design has an aggressive positive rake angle of up to 12 degrees for fast, efficient cutting and a fine surface finish. It also prevents chipping and stripping compared to standard blades. It has a raker tooth set, which alternates between left-leaning, right-leaning, and unset teeth. The blade is available with a choice of variable pitch or constant pitch. The variable pitch has a variable tooth size and gullet depth to reduce noise levels and vibrations, and to remove chips efficiently. The constant pitch has uniform tooth spacing and gullet size for general-purpose cutting.

Band saw blades are long, continuous bands of metal that loop around the wheels of band saws and can make straight or curved cuts in metal, wood, stone, plastic, and other materials. When purchasing band saw blades, consider the application, as this will affect the tooth rake, tooth set, pitch, and size of the blade.
