The Scientific Industries SI-DD88 Disruptor Genie cell disruptor has a speed range of 1,000 to 2,850 rpm, holds up to 12 2.0mL microtubes, has digital control and LED readout of speed and process time with timed operation up to 99 minutes, and provides simultaneous agitation and vortex mixing. The combined motion enhances the efficiency of disruption beads (sold separately) for high yields in less time. Basic vortex mixing of single test tubes can be accomplished by replacing the microtube holder with the supplied pop-off cup. An adjustable speed alarm warns if the unit cannot maintain the set speed. The base is a solid metal casting for stability and the body is made of stainless steel for resistance to corrosion. This cell disruptor is used for the disruption and homogenization of yeast cells, bacteria, and plant and animal tissue, and for dissolution of chemical substances.

This cell disruptor has an allowable ambient temperature range of 0 to 38 degrees C (32 to 100 degrees F) at 95% relative humidity, and is suitable for use in cold rooms and incubators.
