Product Description

The Scientech ZSA210D Zeta Series dual range analytical balance has a capacity of 100g and an accuracy of 0.1mg (also called readability) for samples up to 100g; and for samples exceeding 100g, it has a capacity of 200g and an accuracy of 1mg. This balance has a large LCD screen for clear readings, and an external calibration system that automatically adjusts the balance when used with a 100g or 200g calibration mass (not included) to ensure accurate measurements. The weighing sensor is designed with an electromagnetic, force restoration weigh sensor that offers a rugged, durable suspension system and a modular design that is convenient to repair should damage occur. The bi-directional, rear-facing RS232 port is positioned for easy connection to a printer or computer, and built-in functions enable work in compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) traceability requirements, as well as testing for ISO calibration compliance.

The balance weighs in eight common weighing units and tares over the entire weighing range. A tare setting automatically switches the balance from low range to high range when a sample exceeds 100g, providing low-range readability across the high-range capacities. Applications include parts counting, check weighing, percent weighing, and live animal weighing. Three selectable settings adjust the sensitivity of the balance to compensate for excessive vibration, and a stability indicator confirms that readings are valid. The solid die-cast metal housing protects the internal weighing cell from environmental influences, and a labyrinth seal under the corrosion-resistant, stainless steel weighing pan creates a complicated barrier for liquids to pass through, preventing damage from spills from occurring while keeping contaminants from entering. The draft shield (also known as a windscreen), with three sliding glass doors, is dishwasher safe and autoclaveable. The balance is manufactured to ISO 9001:2008 standards, and when used according to manufacturer’s recommendations, is covered by a five-year warranty.

H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.

Balances are measuring instruments used to determine the mass of an object, while scales are used to measure the weight of an object. The measurement results from balances are generally considered to be more precise compared to results from scales. Mechanical balances are the simplest type of balance, and use a lever and slide to indicate the measurement. Conventional balances are commonly used in offices, the jewelry industry, and in kitchens, and display results digitally, but are less precise than analytical balances. Analytical balances measure to a high degree of precision and accuracy (0.0001g or better), and display results digitally. These balances have a cover with doors to prevent dust and airflow from affecting the measurement. Moisture balances analyze moisture content in a material sample, using infrared or halogen heat sources to dry the sample and then calculate the moisture content from the before- and after-drying weight, and display results digitally, on the balance, or transfer the information for display on a computer.
