The Scienceware 410990000 mini vacuum desiccator has a flat-domed clear polycarbonate top on a white polypropylene base with an interior volume of 0.015 cubic feet, and is designed for small samples. The peripheral flange around the bottom fits into two snap locks and seals the two halves against a Buna O-ring. The desiccator measures 12.6cm in height, with a 17.5cm diameter. The vacuum rating is 740mm Hg.
Desiccators are sealable containers used to remove water from a sample, or to preserve moisture-sensitive electronics or lab consumables, typically in laboratory, electronic, and aerospace applications. Desiccators are often used with desiccants, which are drying agents such as silica gel or activated charcoal placed under a removable platform.
