The Rubbermaid FGH24600 Gripper clamp style wet mop fiberglass handle is made of fiberglass for corrosion resistance and good strength-to-weight ratio, and has a yellow plastic clamp style connection for use with wet mops with 5" headbands (sold separately). A mop headband can be placed in the clamp jaws, which then constrict when the tightening collar is turned for a firm connection between the handle and mop head. This handle is 60 inches (152.4 cm) in length and is suitable for use in commercial and industrial applications.
Mop handles are typically made of wood, aluminum, or fiberglass, and are designed to provide a good strength-to-weight ratio. Mop handles connect to flat mop heads (such as dust mops or microfiber mops) by first connecting to a frame that supports the shape of the mop head. For this kind of use either the frame or the handle includes a swivel joint for flexible maneuverability. Mop handles connect to string mops with a fixed mechanism that grips or clamps onto a mop's headband, or receives a threaded bolt built into the mop head.
