This Posi Lock PHMSC-106 three-jaw hydraulic puller with hydraulic cylinder has 5 tons of pulling capacity and is used to extract shaft-fitted parts (bearings, wheels, bushings, gears, and pulleys) from housings or shafts, reducing the force required to dismount the part. This puller has a three-jaw construction, ensuring equal load distribution, secure hold, and concentric pulling action, and is constructed of steel to help prevent rust and corrosion. A hydraulic puller adds speed and precision, and reduces the physical labor required for pulls. A safety cage guides the jaws for solid contact with the work surface, preventing slippage. The PHMSC-106 puller comes in a molded plastic carrying case and includes a set of six ram points to protect the center bolt from damage and keep it from flattening from repeated use, a 10,000 pounds per square inch (psi) gauge to monitor the air pressure in the system, a lift plate for carrying the puller (includes two screws for mounting), 10,000 pounds per square inch (psi) hydraulic cylinder to assist the technician with pulling power, a manual pump that attaches to the hydraulic cylinder by hose for pumping by hand, a gauge adapter, male coupler with dust cap, and 10-ft. hose for connecting the pump and puller for hydraulic operation. This Posi Lock hydraulic puller is suitable for extracting bearings, wheels, bushings, gears, and pulleys in applications in the automotive, agricultural, and manufacturing industries.

Gear and bearing pullers are tools designed to remove mechanical, press-fit parts, such as bearings, bushings, gears, and pulleys, from a shaft, or to remove a shaft from inside a hole. Pullers have three main parts—the center bolt, gripping jaws, and T-handle—and can be operated manually or hydraulically. The jaws of the puller form a claw that grips the edge of the gear, which is pulled off the shaft when the screw is turned. Pullers are typically configured with two or three jaws and can be constructed of iron, steel, or other alloyed metal. Pullers can be used manually or can be powered by a hydraulic cylinder, adding speed and precision, and reducing the physical labor required for pulls. With a hydraulic puller, compressed air is forced through the cylinder by a pump that is either connected by hose to the puller or is integral to it. Pullers are used in hundreds of applications in the automotive, agricultural, and manufacturing industries, among others.
Posi Lock manufactures pulling jaws, vises, and specialty tools. The company, founded in 1978, is headquartered in Cooperstown, ND and meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9002:1994 standards.
