Product Description
Polysulfone PSO (UDEL Brand) is considered to be in the class of Superpolymers since it maintains its physical properties at temperatures above 400 F. Polysulfone is a clear amber amorphous thermoplastic that is stable, heat resistant and self extinguishing. It has a UL-rated continuous temperature of 320 F. It is very rigid with a flex modulus of 400,000 psi with a tensile strength of over 10,000 psi at yield. It has a high dielectric strength and low dissipation factor. PSO is highly resistant to mineral acid, alkali, and salt solutions. PSO is attacked by polar organic solvents and chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbons. It is used in the Medical Device Industry and can be steam sterilized multiple times. Food grade microwave cookware and coffee carafes are a few of the many high temperature uses. FDA CFR-177.1655
