The B3000-B is a mistic serial brain designed as a modern drop-in replacement for the serial B3000 brain, which is obsolete as of October 2009. The B3000-B has the same functionality as the B3000, except that it does not support the Optomux protocol. Customers requiring an Optomux brain should contact Opto 22 Product Support for options. Like the older B3000, the B3000-B is a high-performance processor used to remotely control a mix of SNAP analog and digital I/O modules on a B-series rack. The brain connects to an Opto 22 controller or a host computer over an RS-485 serial link. It works with both legacy FactoryFloor (mistic) controllers, such as the SNAP-LCM4 and SNAP-LCSX, and with SNAP PAC S-series controllers. (With a SNAP PAC controller, PAC Project Professional is required). Power requirements: 5.0-5.2 VDC at 750 mA maximum (does not include module power requirements). Operating temperature: 0 to 60 degree C. Storage temperature: -40 to 85 degree C. Humidity: 0-95 percent humidity, non-condensing. Communications interface: RS-485, 2- or 4-wire, twisted pair(s), with shield. Data Rates: 300 baud to 230.4 Kbaud. Range: Multidrop 32 stations maximum between repeaters; up to 3000 ft (914 m) between repeaters. LED indicators: SERIAL (transmit/receive), STAT (brain status), IRQ (interrupt). Switch Selectable Options: address, baud rate, binary/ASCII, CRC/checksum. Digital mistic functions: input latching (10 micro second), timing (1 msec resolution), counting (32 bit), totalizing, output timing (1 msec resolution), pulse generation (1 msec resolution), time proportional output (100 msec minimum period), frequency measurement (up to 20 Khz), event reactions, pulse measurement, period measurement. Analog mistic functions: PID loop control, high/low limit monitoring, thermocouple linearization, digital filtering, ramping, waveform generation, programmable offset and gain, engineering unit scaling, square root extraction, event reactions.
Factory Mutual, IEC 950: 1991-09, 2002/95/EC, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement
