Justrite 28222 Aerosolv Aerosol Can Disposal System

The Justrite 28222 Aerosolv aerosol can disposal system is used to puncture and relieve pressure from aerosol cans, enabling them to be recycled rather than treated as solid hazardous waste, and includes an automatic shutoff mechanism and a padlock. The system can thread into a two-inch bung on a 30- or 55-gallon drum (sold separately) to collect residual liquids. A non-sparking, piercing pin punctures the can so that the liquid can flow directly into the drum. A combination coalescing carbon filter removes volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from residual propellants and converts liquids to droplets to facilitate drainage. A signal indicates when the activated carbon cartridge is saturated and ready for replacement. An automatic lockout and shutoff mechanism seals the system and the drum when not in use to prevent hazardous vapors from escaping. A padlock and key help prevent unauthorized use. The system is coated with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), which is resistant to wear and corrosion. It can accommodate aerosol cans up to 8-1/2 inches high. This product complies with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulation 40 CFR 261.23(a)(6) concerning hazardous waste.
