The Hettich Rotina 420R centrifuge is a refrigerated variable-speed centrifuge (-20 to +40 degrees C) with speeds ranging from 50 to 15,000 rpm. This centrifuge is compatible with 8 interchangeable rotors (sold separately) and can accommodate up to 60 x 1.5/2mL tubes. The centrifuge automatically senses the rotor type and sets the maximum speed for increased safety of samples. The unit shuts off if a rotor becomes imbalanced, the motor overheats, or the chamber overheats for decreased wear and increased safety of samples. This centrifuge is designed to be used in clinical chemistry, biotechnology, and life science research.
This centrifuge has a timer from 1 second to 99 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds for data accuracy. This unit can store up to 98 centrifugation programs for efficiency and data accuracy. This centrifuge can be run using either speed or relative centrifugal force (rcf) values for flexibility.

H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.
A centrifuge is used to spin fluids of different densities to separate various parts, commonly blood and DNA samples. Centrifuges are composed of the main body or housing and a spinning rotor. Tubes of cellular material suspended in liquid are inserted into the rotor and spun at various speeds to separate components. Centrifuges are used in medical, industrial, and research laboratories, as well as academic and clinical settings.
Andreas Hettich GmbH & Co.KG (Hettich), is a manufacturer of clinical and research centrifuges. The company is headquartered in Tuttlingen, Germany. The US subsidiary, Hettich Instruments, is located in Beverly, MA.
