Capacity

Capacity is the measured amount of liquid or substance that a bottle can hold. Capacity is most commonly measured in metric units such as milliliters (mL), and liters (l), and can sometimes be measured in ounces (oz). Capacity, which refers to how much substance a container can hold, is different than volume. Volume is the amount of space occupied by an object, and is calculated by multiplying its length, width, and height.
