Screw Length
Screws that are designed to be countersunk, such as flat head screws, are measured from the top of the head to the tip. Screws designed to have the head sit on top of the surface, such as pan head screws, are measured from beneath the head to the tip. Screw length can be measured in decimal inches, fractional inches, or millimeters.
