The HI 96724C is a portable microprocessor based chlorine photometer with a tungsten lamp-based optical system and a narrow band interference filter.
The meter is factory calibrated, with a Cal-Check function to notify the user if a new calibration is necessary. It is splash proof, with the lamp and filter units protected from dust with a transparent cap. The meter uses an adaptation of the USEPA Method 330.5 for wastewater and Standard Method 4500-Cl G for drinking water. Both free and total free chlorine can be measured.
Free chlorine range is 0.00 to 5.00 mg/L, and total chlorine range is 0.00 to 5.00 mg/L (+ or – 0.03 mg/L, + or – 3% of reading at 25 degrees C). Resolution is 0.01 mg/L from 0.00 to 3.50 mg/L; 0.10 mg/L above 3.50 mg/L. The meter operates on one 9 V battery and automatically shuts off after 10 minutes of non-use. Dimensions are 192 x 102 x 67 mm (7.6 x 4 x 2.6") with weight 290 g (10 oz.).
