The HI 903 Karl Fischer Volumetric Titrator combines a high-precision titrant delivery system, optically regulated magnetic stirring, dynamic dosing and endpoint determination, and background drift correction algorithms to automatically calculate moisture content using potentiometric titration.

Clip-Lock System for Quick Burette Exchange

The titration system features the Clip-Lock exchangeable burette system, which allows the user to slide reagent burettes in and out within seconds without interrupting the analysis cycle or causing cross-contamination of samples. Flexible Data Options for Simple Data Collection and Analysis

The titrator features a large, backlit color LCD screen with menus in multiple languages and can be connected via USB connection to a PC, keyboard, monitor, printer, or to a flash drive for utilizing and saving methods and data. It also features a titrant database for storing standardization information for up to 20 titrants and supports up to 100 titration methods (both standard, and user defined). GLP data can be recorded for all samples, and the titrator is compatible with most major titrant and solvent brands.

Premium Components Ensure Accurate Mixing and Endpoint Determination

A digital, magnetic stirring system with optical feedback, a conical titration cell (to help mix over a wide volume range), and upward titrant dispensation all help to ensure proper mixing of the titrant and analyte. The titrator detects the endpoint with a dual platinum pin polarization electrode for bivoltametric indication, and has signal averaging (to reduce noise) and selectable endpoint criteria (fixed mV persistence, relative or absolute drift stop). Sample mass and volume are automatically acquired with the serial RS-232 interface.

Advanced Titrant Delivery System for Precise Dosing

The HI 903 features a 40,000 step piston dosing pump that contains a precision ground 5 mL glass burette with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) plunger and tubing, a polyurethane tube jacketing, and a glass anti-diffusion dispensing tip. It has a sealed solvent system, which allows the user to change to fresh solvent without opening the titration vessel, minimizing exposure to ambient humidity. The beaker top and vessel caps are chemically resistant and have a quick-remove sample port plug with a replaceable rubber septum. The desiccant is rechargeable at 150 degrees C, and indicates when absorption capacity is depleted.

Microscale Range and Dose Administration

Range is 100 ppm to 100%, with resolution 1 ppm (0.0001%), and results are available in the following units: %, ppm, mg/g, μg/g, mg, μg, mg/mL, μg/mL, mg/pc, μg/pc. The sample type can be liquid or solid, and the dosing system is capable of delivering doses as small as 0.125 uL of titrant.
