The Hanna Instruments HI 98188 is waterproof multi-parameter meter for measuring EC, resistivity, salinity, TDS, and temperature all in one device.
The meter features a large LCD screen, automatic temperature compensation, auto shut-off, and a USB connection for downloading data to Windows. Choose from seven EC ranges and five resistivity ranges. Calibration is automatic and up to five points. The meter can log 400 samples on demand, with a logging interval of five seconds to one minute.
EC ranges are 0 to 400mS/cm (actual conductivity 1000 mS/cm) 0.001 to 9.999 uS/cm; 10.00 to 99.99 uS/cm; 100.0 to 999.9 uS/cm; 1.000 to 9.999 mS/cm; 10.00 to 99.99 mS/cm; 100.0 to 1000.0 mS/cm (autoranging) + or – 1% of the reading, with resolutions 0.001 uS/cm; 0.01 uS/cm; 0.1 uS/cm; 0.001 mS/cm; 0.01 mS/cm; 0.1 mS/cm. Resistivity ranges are 1 to 999.9 Ohm•cm; 1.000 to 9.999 kOhm•cm; 10.00 to 99.99 kOhm•cm; 100.0 to 999.9 kOhm•cm; 1.0 to 100.0 MOhm•cm (autoranging) + or – 2% of the reading, with resolutions 0.1 Ohm•cm; 0.001 kOhm•cm; 0.01 kOhm•cm; 0.1 kOhm•cm; 0.1 MOhm•cm. TDS ranges are 0.00 to 99.99 ppm; 100.0 to 999.9 ppm; 1.000 to 9.999 g/L; 10.00 to 99.99 g/L; 100.0 to 400.0 g/L (autoranging) + or – 1% of the reading, with resolutions 0.01 ppm; 0.1 ppm; 0.001 g/L; 0.01 g/L; 0.1 g/L. NaCl ranges are %: 0.0 to 400.0%; seawater scale: 0.00 to 80.00 (PSU); Practical salinity: 0.01 to 42.00 + or – 1% of the reading, with resolutions 0.1%; 0.01. Temperature range is -20.0 to 120.0 degrees C + or – 0.2 degrees, with resolution 0.1 degrees. Dimensions are 226.5 x 95 x 52 mm (8.9 x 3.75 x 2") with weight 525 g.
Conductivity meters are used for measuring the electro-conductivity of a solution. They are commonly used in hydroponics, aquaculture, and research to measure the amount of salts or other compounds present in water.
Hanna Instruments manufactures a wide variety of analytical instrumentation, including pH meters, multi-parameter meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. Founded in 1978, Hanna is headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, with subsidiaries in 32 countries. Hanna Instruments holds many firsts in the field of analytical instrumentation, including a pH electrode with a built-in temperature sensor, an electronic pocket-sized pH tester, and a replaceable electrode pH pocket tester. To assure the quality of its products, Hanna is a vertically integrated manufacturer and does not subcontract any part of its manufacturing.
