The HI 98188-01 is a water-resistant, portable conductivity (EC) meter for lab or field use. USP standard compliance makes the instrument suitable for pure water determination. It can also measure temperature, resistivity, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and salinity in three different modes. The meter features a series of diagnostic functions including messages on a graphic, LCD screen for easy calibration, an alert when the electrode needs cleaning, and a user-selectable “outside calibration range” warning when measurements are outside periphery, as well as “calibration time out” when a new calibration is necessary.
Choose from seven memorized standards (0.00, 84.0, 1.413, 5.00, 12.88, 80.0, 111.8 mS/cm) and obtain up to a five-point conductivity calibration. The meter includes linear or non-linear, user-selectable Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), and measures an extended temperature range from -20 to 120 degrees C (-4 to 248 degrees F) with a temperature sensor inside the EC electrode. The meter includes a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) function, to view last calibration data for EC and NaCl, as well as auto hold, to freeze the first stable reading on the LCD. The meter’s memory can store up to 1000 readings and a USB connection enables PC interface.
The device operates on four 1.2Vdc 1300mAh Accumulators. Dimensions are 226.5 x 95 x 52 mm/8.9” x 3.75” x 2’’ (H x W x D), and weighs 525 g.
Electrical conductivity meters measure the electrical conductivity in a solution. They are commonly used in hydroponics, aquaculture, and freshwater systems to monitor the amount of nutrients, salts, or impurities in the water. USP compliance verifies the quality, purity, and potency of dietary supplement finished products, dietary supplement ingredients, and pharmaceutical ingredients.
Hanna Instruments manufactures analytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 standards.
