The HI 2550 is a microprocessor-based, pH, Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP), Conductivity (EC), TDC, NaCl, and temperature bench meter that includes a relative mV feature. The meter is most suitable for lab use. Conductivity and TDS features auto-ranging, which automatically selects the scale with the highest resolution. The meter features Manual or Automatic Temperature Compensation. The temperature coefficient is user selectable and temperature compensation can be disabled to measure actual conductivity. Up to five-point pH calibration can be performed using seven standard (1.68, 4.01, 6.86, 7.01, 9.18, 10.01, 12.45) and two custom buffers, and a calibration reminder can be set to alert the user when too much time has elapsed since the last pH calibration. The meter’s memory can store 200 manually logged points and 500 lot logging points. A USB connection enables PC interface and a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) feature provides data consistency.
Range is -2.0 to 16.0; -2.00 to 16.00 ; -2.000 to 16.000 pH + or - 0.01; 0.002 pH at 20 degrees C, with resolutions 0.1; 0.01; 0.001 pH. ORP range is 999.9; 2000 mV + or – 0.2; 1 mV at 20 degrees C, with resolutions 0.1 mV (+ or – 1000.0 mV); 1 mV (+ or – 2000 mV). Temperature range is -20.0 to 120.0 degrees C (pH, EC range) + or – 0.4 degrees C (excluding probe error) at 20 degrees C), with a resolution of 0.1 degrees C. Input impedance is 1E12 Ohm and the device operates on a 12 VDC adapter. Dimensions are 235 x 222 x 109 mm/9.2” x 8.7” x 4.3’’ (H x W x D), and weighs 1.3 kg (2.9 lbs.).
Multiparameter meters are used to make a number of measurements, ranging from pH to Conductivity, and are used by researchers, manufacturers, and individuals for many different purposes.
Hanna Instruments manufactures analytical instrumentation and supplies, including pH meters, electrodes, chemical reagents, and buffer solutions. The company, founded in 1978 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 standards.
