The Grant Instruments PCV-3000 centrifuge is a variable-speed combined centrifuge and vortex mixer with speeds ranging from 1,000 to 3,500 rpm. This centrifuge comes with two rotors: one for 12 x 1.5mL tubes, and one for a combination of 12 x 0.5mL and 12 x 0.2mL tubes. It is also compatible with additional rotors for tubes and microtitre plates (sold separately). The unit can consecutively spin and mix multiple tubes. Tubes are loaded into the rotor for spinning and then remain in the same position for vortex mixing, saving time and labor. These spin and mix phases can be linked in sequences repeated up to 999 times. The centrifuge stops when the lid is opened for increased safety. This centrifuge is designed for genetic engineering research, such as PCR diagnostics experiments.
This centrifuge is non-refrigerated and does not have temperature control features.

H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.
A centrifuge is used to spin fluids of different densities to separate various parts, commonly blood and DNA samples. Centrifuges are composed of the main body or housing and a spinning rotor. Tubes of cellular material suspended in liquid are inserted into the rotor and spun at various speeds to separate components. Centrifuges are used in medical, industrial, and research laboratories, as well as academic and clinical settings.
