Product Description
The 5L Fractional Horsepower (FHP) V-belt has a classical profile, measures 0.38” high and 0.66” wide, and is built by Goodyear Engineered Products with Vytacord tension members for light-duty applications with small-sheave diameter requirements. It is static conductive, making it appropriate in the presence of explosive gases, liquids, powders, and other substances where the possibility of static sparks must be kept to a minimum.
The FHP belt is built with Vytacord tension members, a synthetic reinforcement that increases overall tensile strength and lends dimensional stability so that drive performance is more consistent and predictable over the life of the belt. Cogs on the inner surface of the belt increase air flow, which enhances cooling. The belt is backed in oil- and abrasion-resistant fabric, providing longitudinal flexibility and lateral strength to the joined belt. The fabric bonds to the V-sections to maintain the singularity of the belt.
Fractional horsepower V-belts are used on light-duty drives of 1 horsepower (hp) or less. They are suitable for light machinery, such as furnace fan drives, shop equipment, home appliances, and blowers. They are oil, heat, ozone and abrasion resistant, and low vibration reduces noise. FHP V-belt efficiency begins at 93% when used with smaller sheaves and increases as the sheave diameter increases.
