This 25-inch horizontal double drum sander is designed for medium to heavy duty use for fine finish sanding for wide boards and glue-ups after planing, and saves time and sanding steps by allowing you to sand two successive grits in one pass. The 15-245 M1 features a sturdy steel frame, heavy duty steel base with dual access doors. The two 6-inch precision machined high-density rubber coated drums offer smooth, stable, vibration-free performance with a softer grip, for longer sandpaper life and less slippage. The sanding drums are equipped with quick-change spring clips to secure the paper tightly, and are driven by a 5 HP 220 volt single phase motor equipped with an amp meter motor load indicator and a magnetic safety switch. The high-quality industrial rubber feed conveyor is driven by a separate 1/4 HP motor with variable feed speed control from 3.7 to 14.2 feet per minute. The sanding thickness capacity of the 15-245 M1 ranges from a ¼-inch minimum to a 5-5/16-inch maximum. The hinged metal cover is fitted with two 4-inch dust outlets for efficient dust removal and the front of the sander has a full-width emergency stop safety bar.
