Product Description

The Frey Scientific 1324337 Advanced Aluminum Top Hot Plate has a one-piece aluminum top and a microprocessor control for heating glassware and contents to between 5 to 400 degrees C, includes a seven-inch square hot plate that is durable, crack- and chip-resistant, and provides a more even heating surface, and has an illuminated LED digital display, a built-in support rod holder with locking knob, and a heat-resistant polymer body. Hot plates are used to heat glassware and contents in laboratories.

This hot plate is housed in a heat-resistant polymer body that stays cool to the touch and channels fluids away from internal components. An LED display with built-in memory recalls the last set temperature, and a temperature knob adjusts the setpoint. Overshoot protection automatically shuts down the unit if the temperature exceeds the setpoint by 10 degrees C. A caution indicator light illuminates when heat is turned on and remains on until the top plate cools down. The built-in support rod holder with locking knob at rear holds a standard threaded support rod to suspend instrumentation such as clamps and probes. The hot plate comes with a 92" (234cm) detachable, 3-wire cord and plug.

Researchers, professionals and hobbyists use hot plates to heat a variety of liquids and solutions in chemistry, food and beverage, biology, lab, and home applications. Hotplates can have either a digital or an analog display, and can show temperature range, or stirring speed. Hot plate surfaces are commonly made of ceramic-glass or stainless steel, and have coatings such as porcelain. They come in a variety of dimensions. Some units can work with stirrers that can be supported with clamps and rods.
