The ETA hand2mind 78345 Chromosomes, Genes, and DNA CD-ROMs provides teachers and students with computer-based multimedia content for use with interactive whiteboards or for individual student instruction, and is designed for students in grades 5-9 (ages 10 to 15). Four lessons include Chromosomes, Genes and DNA, Making Proteins, and Mutations. Each lesson contains five modules including lesson presentation, interactive activities, visual resources, vocabulary building, and assessment, and a virtual lab allows students to perform simulations and experiments, and to draw conclusions. A custom toolbar allows teachers to customize lessons with arrows and text blocks. The software is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP (32-bit), Windows Vista (32-bit), and Windows 7 (32- and 64-bit), and Mac OS X v10.6 and v10.7, and is available as an individual or site license. A single-user license is valid for a single installation. The curriculum meets national standards and state-based standards for California, Florida, New York, and Texas.
