Product Description

The Eppendorf Research Pro electronic single-channel air displacement pipette has an LCD screen, adjustable volume selection, and programmable pipetting modes. This electronic single-channel micropipette comes with a charging unit, and it is used for transporting a measured volume of liquid. Its LCD screen shows the volume and pipetting mode and is set at a 45-degree angle for visibility during pipetting operations. This pipette includes two modes and five programmable aspirating and dispensing speeds in each mode for quick access to commonly used pipetting operations. The user can calibrate the pipette to accommodate solutions of different viscosity, density, surface tension, or vapor pressure for flexibility in pipetting applications. The autoclavable nose cone ensures sterility and avoids cross-contamination. Single-channel pipettes are typically used in biotechnology research, microbiology, and chemistry applications to aspirate, transport, and dispense a small, measured volume of liquid.

The volume and speed rocker switches require low force to avoid wrist and hand strain. Buttons, controls, and the adjustable tip ejection lever accommodate both right- and left-handed users for user comfort. The control button is color coded by volume for ease of coordination with pipette tips. The pipette automatically shuts off after ten minutes to conserve battery life. The Research Pro comes with a charging unit and a rechargeable nickel metal hydride (NiMH) battery that lasts for 2000 pipetting cycles before recharging. It comes with a certificate of quality.

Pipettes are laboratory tools for collecting, transporting, and dispensing a small amount of liquid. Sometimes called pipets, pipettors, or chemical droppers, a pipette is composed of a tube that collects the measured substance and a mechanism to aspirate and dispense the substance. Some pipettes can measure a fixed volume of liquid, others are graduated to show the volume, while others can be set to measure a volume within a range. Pipettes can aspirate and dispense liquid manually, electronically, or with a pipette filler that can be motorized. Pipettes are available in a variety of sizes and designs, offer ergonomic features for often-repeated functions, can be autoclavable for reuse, or disposable. The type of pipette used is determined by laboratory applications. Pipettes are typically used in medicine, biology, chemistry, and biotechnology for liquid handling, sampling, testing, and cell culture applications.

Eppendorf manufactures instruments for cell manipulation and automated devices for liquid handling, for use in life science research laboratories. The company, found in 1945, is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany.
