Product Description

The Brown & Sharpe TESA Vernier Depth Gauges, With a Flat Measuring Face, Caliper Type, Metric, depending on the model, has a measurement range of 0 to 150mm or 0 to 250mm, and are graduated in 0.02mm intervals, with + or - 0.03mm of accuracy. The vernier scale provides precise, fine measurements. The depth gauges have a scale background of satin-chrome for readability and the scale is slightly set back from the front edge for durability. They are made of hardened stainless steel for accurate measurements and conform to the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) 862 (style C-2) and Norme Française (NF) E 11-096 standards. The units come with a plastic case. Depth gauges are typically used in manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering.

Depth gauges are precision measuring instruments used to determine the depth of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot. These gauges often take the form of sliders that travel on a measuring beam or rods, are moved to position by hand, and then adjusted with a calibrated screw. The base of the gauge rests at the top of the shape whose recession is to be measured, while the beam or rods extend to the bottom of the recession to determine the measurement.
