The Benchmark Scientific B3D2300 BenchRocker 3D waving platform shaker has a speed range of 2 to 30 rpm; a large platform that holds culture plates, tubes, media bottles, and Erlenmeyer flasks with a total weight of 4.4lb.; an analog control knob for speed; and a manually adjustable tilt angle between 0 and 30 degrees for three-dimensional (gyrating) motion ranging from gentle mixing to vigorous agitation. The brushless motor requires no maintenance, and autoclavable flat and dimpled rubber mats provide a nonslip surface for the platform. This shaker is used in a variety of laboratory procedures, including cell culture, hematology, and chemical mixing.
This laboratory shaker has an allowable ambient temperature range of 4 to 65 degrees C, and is safe for use in cold rooms and incubators.

Laboratory shakers agitate liquids for biological and chemical procedures by repetitively moving the vessels holding the liquids. The types of vessels include glass or plastic bottles, flasks, tubes, and microplates. Shakers are categorized by the type of movement used, which can be orbital (circular), reciprocating, vibrating, rocking, waving (gyrating), rotating (rotisserie), or wrist-action. Typically a shaker will have analog or digital controls for setting the speed and sometimes also the degree of movement. Some shakers have the ability to incubate or refrigerate samples during shaking. Shakers are used in a variety of laboratory procedures, including hemolysis, preparation of emulsions and suspensions, staining, and cell cultivation.
Benchmark Scientific manufactures sterilization and temperature control equipment, centrifuges and mixers, and other laboratory products. The company, founded in 2008, is headquartered in South Plainfield, NJ.
