This Bel-Art narrow-mouth cylindrical vacuum aspirator bottle has a polypropylene body, a vacuum trap with flexible vacuum tubing, flexible collection tubing, and a screw cap with a safety release vent. This lab bottle has a narrow mouth for substance control and containment and is used with vacuum aspiration systems. The polypropylene body provides solvent resistance, strength, and thermal performance during hot applications, is lightweight, and can be sterilized and autoclaved. Its cylindrical shape is used for a wide variety of applications that require solution containment. This lab bottle includes a polypropylene cylindrical vacuum trap with flexible vacuum tubing to help prevent fluid from flowing into the vacuum source (sold separately). Flexible collection tubing (1/4-inch ID x 3/8-inch OD) connects to a pipette tip (sold separately) for aspiration applications. The collection tubing and vacuum tubing both attach to a screw cap with a safety release vent, which helps prevent vacuum implosion. This bottle includes an epoxy-coated steel frame to provide stability for the bottle and trap during vacuum aspiration applications. This bottle is suitable for use with vacuum aspiration systems and to aspirate media, waste chemicals, and cell washing solutions from Petri dishes, microtiter plates, flasks, and centrifuge tubes, among other labware.
Lab bottles are used to store, hold, and mix liquids, powders, and other substances in a wide variety of scientific industries. Lab bottles have a more pronounced neck and shoulder than jars. Lab bottles are manufactured with a combination of characteristics in order to meet the demands of particular applications, such as for solution dispensing, mixing, and weighing, and use in centrifuge operations. They come in many shapes for specific applications, with a variety of mouth or nozzle shapes and sizes for specific use. Lab bottles are made from materials, such as glass (borosilicate or soda-lime) and an array of plastics, which are selected for chemical and thermal expansion resistance, transparency, and their adaptability in a variety of applications. Lab bottle interiors, caps, and lids are often lined with a protective material. Caps and lids help seal bottles to prevent solutions from spilling. The capacity refers to the fluid amount held by a lab bottle, and is commonly measured in milliliters (mL) and liters (l), and sometimes in ounces (oz). Lab bottles are suitable for use in chemistry and biology applications, as well as in pharmaceutical and scientific testing.
Bel-Art Products manufactures scientific products, including lab ware, testing equipment, and safety supplies. The company, founded in 1946 and headquartered in Pequannock, NJ, also makes products under the Scienceware brand.
