The 3M Aqua-Pure® Reverse Osmosis System APR05500 is an under-sink multi-stage water filtration system that provides superior-quality drinking water to a dedicated faucet. The system includes activated-charcoal pre- and post-filters, as well as the signature reverse osmosis filter. It produces up to 25 gallons/95 liters of filtered water per day. An automatic shutoff helps promote peak efficiency and water conservation. Quick-change cartridges make regular maintenance as simple as changing a light bulb. The system and replacement filter cartridges are manufactured by 3M Purification Inc. (3MPITM), formerly CUNO Incorporated.

The reverse osmosis process, in conjunction with activated charcoal pre- and post-filters, helps to reduce particulate and rust, chlorine taste and odor, and lead, arsenic, TDS, parasitic protozoan cysts, radium, barium, cadmium, chromium, copper, fluoride, selenium, and other chemical and biological contaminants in the water supply. The system can be used with chlorinated (municipal) or non-chlorinated (well) water. The high-flux, thin-film, reverse-osmosis membrane and charcoal filter cartridges are easily replaced. It is made from FDA CFR-21 compliant materials and designed for installation on a kitchen cold-water line at a maximum water temperature of 100°F/37.8°C and maximum water pressure of 125 psi/862 kPa.

Reverse osmosis water filtration helps to remove impurities by forcing water through a membrane and leaving particles behind. Reverse osmosis is typically used in connection with cellulose triacetate (CTA) or activated charcoal pre-filters and post-filters, and units are often designed to be installed directly in the drinking-water line under the kitchen sink.

In addition to the filter housing, the 3MTM Aqua-Pure® Reverse Osmosis System APR05500 includes a pre-filter, post-filter, reverse-osmosis membrane, 1/4” inlet tubing, 3/8” outlet tubing, a long-reach faucet, 2.4 gallon (9.1 liter) tank, and water/drain connections.
