The Amprobe ManO2-A digital manometer measures gauge or differential pressure up to 2 pounds per square inch (psi) in heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) applications and in devices with valves and pneumatic controls, such as medical equipment. It provides readings in inches of water (inH2O), millimeters of water (mmH2O), pounds per square inch (psi), bar, and millibar (mbar). The meter's hold function keeps a reading on display, even after the meter is disconnected or the pressure measurement changes. The record function stores the maximum and minimum reading in each session to track sudden increases and decreases in pressure. A clock keeps track of the time of measurement events, such as maximum or minimum readings, so that pressure measurements can be analyzed in relation to other concurrent events and patterns in pressure fluctuations can be spotted. The manual zero function sets the display to zero when no pressure is applied to the connectors. The meter's backlit liquid crystal display (LCD) is readable in low light. Two connection hoses are included for connecting the meter to the system to be measured. The meter has a USB port for connecting the meter to a computer using a data cable (not included) in order to transfer data and record continuous measurements. The meter operates on one 9V battery (installed), and it automatically turns off after 20 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life. It weighs 0.485 lb. (220 g) and measures 7.16 x 2.83 x 1.18 inches (182 x 72 x 30 mm, H x W x D, where H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back). The meter comes with a hard carrying case to help protect it against bumps and abrasions during storage and transport. It meets European Conformity and Australia N10140 standards.
Manometers measure the pressure of a liquid or gas. They are used in laboratory, medical equipment, engineering, automotive, and heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning applications. Manometers measure any combination of gauge, absolute, or differential pressures. Gauge pressure is the amount of pressure in a system relative to the ambient pressure, absolute pressure is the amount of pressure in a system relative to an absolute vacuum, and differential pressure is the difference between two pressures. Analog manometers are composed of columns of liquid, and they use gravity and the liquid's density to calculate pressure. Because they have no moving parts, analog manometers do not require re-calibration. Digital manometers have pressure sensors that are connected to a system with a hose to provide a digital readout of the amount of pressure present in a system. They use microprocessors to calculate pressure, and they require periodic calibration to help ensure accuracy.
Amprobe manufactures electrical testing equipment for commercial, industrial, and home use. The company was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Everett, WA.
