Product Description

The Amprobe DL243D test lead kit contains two silicone-insulated lead wires, two standard probe tips, two alligator clips, and two spade lugs for connecting a compatible electrical test meter to a device in electrical testing applications. The 48" lead wires have silicone insulation to protect hands from shock and heat. The silicone insulation resists melting in hot environments and becoming brittle in cold ones, and it maintains flexibility better than polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation. The standard probe tips are held against the conductor during testing. The alligator clips (also called crocodile clips) have teeth that grip the conductor to provide a more secure, hands-free connection than the test probe tips. The clips are 2.25" long and have a 0.30" jaw opening. The spade lugs clamp to conductors with compression nuts or screws. The lead wires can be used with testing devices that have universal 4 mm jacks. The kit meets International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) safety standard 61010. The test leads, probe tips, and spade lugs are certified for category III installations up to 1,000V, which covers items used with enclosed building circuit installations (service panel parts, branch circuits, and fixed installations that are connected directly to a building's AC power supply). The alligator clips are certified for category II installations up to 300V, which covers large household appliances and devices connected to a fixed power supply, such as refrigerators and air conditioners). The kit also conforms to applicable European Conformity (CE) directives. It comes with a soft folding carrying case with a Velcro closure and pockets for organizing probes and wires. Folded, the pouch measures 4.5 x 7.0 x 0.25 inches (H x W x D). Unfolded, it measures 4.5 x 16.0 x 0.25 inches.
