The Ample Scientific E-33-12V Champion fixed-angle portable centrifuge operates on a 12V import voltage power source, spins at a fixed rate of 3,300 rpm (rotations per minute), and can use an au battery and cigarette lighter as a power source for centrifuge operations in the field. It comes with an 8-place, 45-degree fixed-angle rotor that can accommodate eight 15mL tubes. The centrifuge includes eight 15 mL plastic tubes and eight 13 x 75 mm tube sleeve inserts. A mechanical dial timer can be set for up to 30 minutes of continuous operations. For added safety, an auto-stop function suspends acceleration if the lid becomes unlocked or opened during centrifugation. Designed for field operations, this unit has a carrying handle and suction-cup feet for added stability. This centrifuge is used for various applications, including cell culture applications and separating cell lysates. A separate variable power cord is available so that the unit can be used both indoors and out (sold separately).
The Ample Scientific E-33-12V Champion fixed-angle centrifuge operates on 12V automotive power. It measures 320 x 320 x 320 mm (H x W x D), and weighs 10 lb. (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.)
A centrifuge is used to spin fluids of different densities to separate various parts, commonly blood and DNA samples. Centrifuges are composed of the main body or housing and a spinning rotor. Tubes of cellular material suspended in liquid are inserted into the rotor and spun at various speeds to separate components. Centrifuges are used in medical, industrial, and research laboratories, as well as academic and clinical settings.
Ample Scientific, L.L.C., is a manufacturer and wholesaler of microscopes, centrifuges, and other lab equipment. Founded in 1985, its headquarters are in Norcross, GA.
