The Ample Scientific DM-120 centrifuge is a variable-speed centrifuge that runs from 500 to 12,000 rpm. This centrifuge comes with a 24-place 45-degree fixed-angle micro centrifuge tube rotor. The unit detects rotor imbalance for reduced wear and decreased noise and vibration. A lid lock prevents the lid from being opened while the centrifuge is running for increased laboratory safety. The centrifuge comes with a 0 to 15 minutes digital timer with 30 second increments for data accuracy. This centrifuge can also accommodate a hematocrit rotor (sold separately) and is designed to process urine and blood samples.
This centrifuge is non-refrigerated and does not have temperature control features.

A centrifuge is used to spin fluids of different densities to separate various parts, commonly blood and DNA samples. Centrifuges are composed of the main body or housing and a spinning rotor. Tubes of cellular material suspended in liquid are inserted into the rotor and spun at various speeds to separate components. Centrifuges are used in medical, industrial, and research laboratories, as well as academic and clinical settings.
Ample Scientific manufactures microscopes, centrifuges, and other lab equipment. The company, founded in 1985, is headquartered in Norcross, GA.
