The American Educational 505 plastic alpine glacier model set is used for study of the effects of glacial movement, and has two models—the first model depicts the glacier in its active stage, and the second depicts post-glacial conditions. The second model can be used to create a glacier, using ice and sand, for demonstrating glacial melting and deposition of glacial till. (Ice and sand not included.) The 505 has a teacher’s guide for instructional use. The models are made of plastic for durability, and measure 24.0 x 18.0 inches (L x W). (L is the horizontal distance from left to right; W is the horizontal distance from front to back.) The set is suitable for grades 6 to 12 and ages 11 to 18.
