The 3M™ Flexible Foam Sanding Sponge is a highly flexible abrasive pad that conforms to curved surfaces, folds to fit crevasses and will bend and twist to get into corners and other hard-to-reach areas. It is ideally suited for sanding wood, paint, metal, plastic, and drywall when conformability is needed for a consistent finish. Its flexible, soft-back foam helps in effectively sanding curves, creases, contours, and other hard-to-reach areas. The unique microreplicated texture on the backing is soft, comfortable and provides a better grip than smooth backed sponges. Flexibility also helps the sanding sponge release particles and reduce loading. Sized for hand sanding, the reusable foam sanding sponge bends, folds, twists to follow contours.

The 3M Flexible Foam Sanding Sponge contains aluminum oxide abrasive mineral, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate and long life. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives, such as garnet, quickly wear down with use.
