3M™ Extra Heavy Duty Duct Tape 6969 is ready to take on tough jobs: bundling pipes and re-rod, sealing and joining butt-splice pipe ends, hanging heavy containment sheets, securing trip hazards, and hanging plastic sheeting. The thick rubber adhesive bonds well to wood, metal, brick, and other construction surfaces. The tape comes in three colors — silver, black and olive — for marking and hazard identification. It is constructed of polyethylene laminated to cloth. Extra-thick body means the tape is easy to handle. It is used in industrial, commercial, military, and construction applications, including HVAC, construction, and abatement operations and automotive maintenance, repair, and manufacturing.

3M™ Duct Tape 6969 is 10 mils thick, has adhesion of 51 oz/in width, tensile strength of 34 lbs/in and elongation at break of 16%. The tape can be used in temperatures up to 200 degrees F. It has been burn tested according to the methods UL 723, ASTM E-84, NFPA 255, UBC 8-1 with result of Flame Spread Index 0, Smoke Developed Index 5.
