The 3B Scientific T21022 model is used to study the dandelion plant (Taraxum officinale), a member of the Asteraceae family. The T21011 consists of three models--inflorescence, floret, and seed—which are enlarged 10 to 20X life size for display and to offer detailed examination. The inflorescence model contains up to 200 florets, and is enlarged 10X; the floret model has five lobes, and is enlarged 20X. The seed model displays the maturation process, from ripening through seed dissemination, and is enlarged 20X. The models are mounted on bases for effective demonstration, and are made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic, which is corrosion resistant, lightweight, and has high strength. PVC resists reactions with acids, gasoline, alcohol, and hydrocarbons. Natural sciences models are typically used as educational aids in medical and scientific classrooms and office settings.
The inflorescence model measures 13.5 x 8.0 x 10.0 inches/34.3 x 20.3 x 25.4cm, and the floret and seed models measure 13.0 x 5.0 x 5.0 inches/33.0 x 12.7 x 12.7cm (H x W x D). (H is the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is the horizontal distance from left to right; D is the horizontal distance from front to back.)
Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.
